The Way Forward Community’s Event Code of Conduct

The Way Forward Community’s events community events aimed at mutual learning and experience exchange as well as contributing to a locally beneficial goal. Every person is welcome to take part, contribute and have a good time. In order to achieve this, all attendees are asked to show respect and courtesy to other attendees as well as staff throughout the entirety of any event.

All participants, exhibitors, organisers, speakers are required to conform to this code of conduct. It will be enforced by the organisers.

Short version

Don’t be an inconsiderate muppet.

Long version

Every event is a harassment-free environment, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religious beliefs or lack of thereof.

Harassment includes offensive comments about any of items mentioned above but also sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any of such behaviour will be asked to stop immediately. Persistent violation of those rules may lead to such person being asked to leave the event without a refund at the sole discretion of the event organisers.

All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds. Be kind to others.

If you feel being harassed or notice someone else being harassed or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the event staff, clearly marked by TWF Community lanyards labelled ‘Organiser’.
